Earlier this month, Avengers: Endgame writing duo Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely revealed what hero they’d like to see in the MCU. (If you missed that, we’ve got their answer HERE.) Naturally, the question on the other side of that coin is which villain they’d want to see pop up in the MCU, and given the breadth of Marvel Comics, there are obviously tons to choose from.

Well, CinemaBlend asked that question in a recent interview, and they got TWO replies from Markus:

I always go back to the guy I always want to see on screen, which is MODOK. Also, part of me… it’s hard to say if he was officially destroyed, I wouldn’t mind seeing a third incarnation of Zola. Now in a robotic body. We got him from human to face on screen, I’d like him to get mobile now. I can’t say that’s going to happen, but it’d be fun.

The Stan Lee and Jack Kirby-created MODOK is short for Mental/Mobile/Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing—what a name for a villain! The character has battled numerous Marvel heroes, including Captain America, Ms. Marvel, Hulk, and more.

Earlier this year, it was announced that the baddie would get his own Hulu animated series Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K, co-created by Patton Oswalt and Jordan Blum. So, if all goes as planned on the TV front, at least fans will get a glimpse of this big-headed-small-bodied villain on the small screen, voiced by Oswalt himself!

Arnim Zola is a Jack Kirby creation, first showing up in the pages of Captain America #208 in 1977. This name should be familiar to fans, because Zola’s popped up in the MCU before, as a scientist working for HYDRA in Captain America: The First Avenger, as a digitized version of himself whose consciousness is housed in a supercomputer in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and a tiny Easter Egg of a cameo in Avengers: Endgame when Tony Stark and Steve Rogers venture back to 1970 as they try to amass all the Infinity Stones.

Of course, this is just Markus and McFeely throwing out their wishlist, so we don’t know if either of these characters will actually show up on the big screen in the future. It sounds like their ideas would be fun to see, though! Which villain do you want to show up in the MCU?
