As if Marvel Studios and the MCU could get any bigger, the deal between Fox and Disney could bring this entire thing to another level. Fox shareholders are scheduled to meet on June 12th to decide whether to sell the bulk of their assets to Disney or to consider the recent bid that Comcast put in to try and acquire their assets. If things go the way fans of the Marvel properties owned by Fox are hoping, the MCU could become even more powerful and diverse.
Kevin Feige is also standing by, awaiting the chance to put all of the pieces together. According to Fandomwire, Feige said: “I’m just sitting, waiting for a phone call to say yay or nay, but obviously it would be nice to have access to that entire library.” Yes, it would be nice indeed.
With everything they have going on, he’s likely not sitting around and thinking about it too often, but he did say he was “eager” to get his hands on franchises like the X-Men and Fantastic Four. As for right now, all he can do is focus on the tasks at hand, the characters Marvel Studios has the rights to, and “any [other] movie, especially for any characters we don’t have the rights to yet until someone tells us we do, would be even further after that.”
