Opening Scene Of Todd McFarlane’s ‘Spawn’ Script Revealed

McFarlane had this to say to Comicbook.com regarding the main roles and how they will be defined within the film: “There’s two big roles in the script. There’s obviously sort of Spawn himself, although in a weird way it’s not the biggest role, and then there’s the cop. The cop is this character Twitch who’s been there since issue #1.” Oh, the casting possibilities!

McFarlane went on to stress that in the classic film Jaws, Chief Brody was the main protagonist, chasing after the titular shark and supplying the story arc with motivations and meaningful dialogue, while the shark itself shows up to supplement the psychological/horror elements of the movie. That seems to be McFarlane’s intent in using Twitch as the main character and utilizing the hell-spawn sparingly.

Fans can finally rest assured that the official cinematic reboot of Spawn is in the works, and a new animated series is rumored as well.
