Seventeen movies in (with the release of Thor: Ragnarok) and Marvel Studios isn’t planning on slowing down. Kevin Feige’s interview with Vanity Fair for their “Secrets Of The Marvel Universe” cover story has revealed a generous cinematic undertaking for the studio in the future. On top of the hefty amount of content behind them, Feige and Marvel Studios are planning 20 more films to take place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
According to Feige, the studio is “22 movies in, and we’ve got another 20 movies on the docket that are completely different from anything we’ve done before – intentionally.”
The studio’s initial effort was in 2008 with Iron Man, and Thor: Ragnarok was its most recent installment in fall of 2017. Five films are currently in production, bringing the total amount to 22 by the end of Phase 3. Avengers 4 will be released in 2019, capping off an era of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and changing the landscape forever. Now that the first trailer for Avengers: Infinity War is out, one can only speculate as to how Feige’s mention of a “finale” will transpire.
