Formed before the wonder of creation itself, the Infinity Stones are six relics that harness the power of the known universe within them and can be used for either good or bad. Thanos and his Black Order will work to “rebalance the universe” against Marvel’s greatest heroes in Avengers: Infinity War. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is sure to receive a massive shake-up, and one has to wonder at what story arcs could come after the Infinity War, and what would happen to the Infinity Stones once Thanos is relieved of them?
Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will have to make some decisions once the battle is over, and if things were to go according to what has happened in Marvel’s comicbook universe, then there are some options of where the story could go.
Formed by Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic, Black Bolt, Professor X, the Sub-Mariner, and Doctor Strange, the Illuminati is a team of superheroes trusted with the possession of the Infinity Stones. The X-Men and Charles Xavier have yet to be introduced into the MCU, and Marvel Studios decided against the Inhumans and Black Bolt, passing them off to Marvel TV. Unfortunately, the poor reviews of the Inhumans show could mean that Black Bolt won’t be making his MCU reappearance anytime soon. However, the roster for the Illuminati could receive an MCU makeover instead of the comicbook version that everyone knows.
