While Wesley Snipes has had great fortune in his portrayal as Marvel’s Blade, he previously had his eyes on Black Panther in the 1990s. He was understandably excited upon learning of Marvel Studios’ attempt at the Wakandan king’s story.
In an interview with Slate, Snipes talked of his failed effort to bring T’Challa and the country of Wakanda to the big screen, after having seen this recent offering of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
He was also impressed by the leap of technological advancement in filmmaking for the new film, saying, “it brings the world closer, and then it allows your marketing dollars to travel further. So, I can’t even imagine what this version of Black Panther would have been 20 years ago, when we were talking about it.”
