Those who have rushed out to purchase their copy of Deadpool 2 on Digital HD have been rewarded with a ton of new footage in the special features. From extended scenes to the gag reel, it’s all there, along with a look at the production in only a way Deadpool can. If you’re anything like most of us, the deleted scenes are something we go to immediately and check out what they cut out of the final version of the film. As expected, Deadpool 2 has plenty to watch in terms of deleted scenes.
One of those scenes gives us a look at Wade Wilson’s interaction with Colossus, Yukio, and the always funny Negasonic Teenage Warhead in the kitchen of the X-Mansion. The scene shows Wade attempting to keep the X-Men organized and eco-friendly before Negasonic Teenage Warhead tells him she sees through his act. Never one to miss an opportunity at parody, Wade goes into a monologue about how he’s accepting himself and growing to become the best hero he can be. Check out the scene below…
John Hughes fans made notice some similarities from Deadpool’s speech to the one John Candy makes at the end of Planes, Trains and Automobiles. If you did, good, because it was directly inspired by it. While the reference may be quick with Wade saying, “I like me,” he has the tone down perfectly. Check out John Candy’s original below.
“You wanna hurt me? Go right ahead if it makes you feel any better. I’m an easy target. Yeah, you’re right, I talk too much. I also listen too much. I could be a cold-hearted cynic like you… but I don’t like to hurt people’s feelings. Well, you think what you want about me; I’m not changing. I like… I like me. My wife likes me. My customers like me. ‘Cause I’m the real article. What you see is what you get.”
It doesn’t get much more powerful than that. You can get your copy of Deadpool 2 now on digital or on August 21st on home video!
