Anticipation for the sequel to Deadpool is ramping up, especially since Josh Brolin’s character, Cable, has been seen in action. Fans weren’t the only ones giving praise. The co-creator of X-Force, Rob Liefeld, had previously drawn what he thought Brolin’s character would be like and posted it on Instagram. Upon seeing the live-action version, he was more than pleased with the result.
After the trailer’s reveal of Cable, the artist confirmed that the actor’s interpretation was, “dead on,” during an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, commenting on his muscle-bound “gym-rat” physique. “Look at that jaw! Look at that grimace! He met the task. He became Cable,” he exclaimed.
Brolin will be appearing as two separate Marvel characters this year, representing both the side of villainy and heroism in each respective role. On top of playing Cable for 20th Century Fox, The Marvel Cinematic Universe has the actor cast as The Mad Titan, Thanos, leader of the Black Order and searching desperately for the last of the Infinity Stones in Avengers: Infinity War. This recent trailer for Deadpool 2 pairs the actor’s two Marvel characters together in a couple of Easter Eggs.
