Two MCU Veterans Join The Cast Of ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’

Any time a film within the Marvel Cinematic Universe gets announced, one of the first things many of us fans think about is what characters are going to be included. Who’s the villain, who’s going to be added into the fray, and which characters are making a return or crossing over? As we’ve seen with Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, the possibilities are endless, much like inside of the pages of our favorite comicbooks.

One character that makes his way across the MCU is Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury. Fury is shaping up to have quite the 2019. As we’ve covered, he will be a big part of Captain Marvel when the 90s-based origin story of Carol Danvers hits theaters. Although he did disintegrate into thin air in the post-credit scene after Infinity War, there’s a big chance he’s still going to play a part in Avengers 4. That is, if his co-star wasn’t giving us all a smokescreen.

Back in April, Sebastian Stan had this to say about a massive scene they filmed for Avengers 4 during an interview with The Independent:

“There was one scene we had where everybody was there. I mean, I can’t really talk about that scene, but… I knew it took them three months in planning this scene to have everyone there. And you look throughout and you just saw, you know, everyone from Samuel L. Jackson to Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer. I mean, everybody was there. I kind of just stood in the corner and looked because I wanted to see how everyone would interact. It’s surreal.”

Now, in addition to Captain Marvel and Avengers 4, Jackson will be reprising his role as Nick Fury in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Joining him will be Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, who just so happened to disappear while she and Fury were tracking what was going on in Wakanda. This news was confirmed by Vulture. Jackson is no stranger to a busy schedule, but 2019 is shaping up to be his best year with Marvel Studios yet!
