Chris Hemsworth’s Marvel Contract Is Up After ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

With five films under his belt, and nearly ten years of wielding his famous hammer, it looks like Chris Hemsworth’s time as Thor is contractually coming to an end.

In an interview with USA Today, Hemsworth confirmed that his contract with Marvel to play Thor Odinson is up at the end of the two-part Avengers saga, which will be released in May 2018 and May 2019, respectively.

“Contractually, right now — yeah, this is it. I’m done. I won’t be playing the character again. It’s sort of a scary thought. This really seemed like this never-ending thing. And now it’s potentially finishing,” Hemsworth said in regards to Thor’s future.
