Another San Diego Comic-Con is in the books! Between surprise guests, exclusive toys and prizes, and never-before-seen footage, the entire nerd community is beside themselves after another unforgettable long weekend in San Diego. Although Marvel Studios did not participate in Hall H this year, that doesn’t mean that it didn’t leave its mark on the annual convention.
From the start of the convention, Marvel properties from various networks including Netflix, Fox, and even the MCU were displayed on the streets of the city. Marvel Studios spent so much time making the amazing set of 10-year anniversary posters, that it was natural to paint the streets with them at Comic-Con! Netflix’s Iron Fist and Fox’s The Gifted both had panels and cast members in attendance, so it was also a no-brainer to show off the two Marvel shows outside the con.
Inside the convention, it was wall to wall cartoons. The Nickelodeon booth showcased the revival of animated series like Rugrats and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the Cartoon Network booth featured a massive, suspended installation of the main characters from Steven Universe, and the Tamashi Nation booth had Shenron from Dragonball Z looking over all the exclusive toys for sale.
This past weekend, what fans lost in Marvel movie news, they gained in DC movie news. The DC booth featured costumes from Aquaman and Shazam!, and both had Hall H panels, new trailers that premiered at the con, and of course, cast members present to talk about the new films. Fans all over the world agree that the future for the newly-renamed “Worlds of DC” is looking bright.
The expo hall and the entire span of the five-day convention were so massive that it would take any fan the entire week to see all of it, if not more. Between toys, films, shows, costumes, and of course, comicbooks, SDCC had something for every fan to geek out over, and we caught just a glimpse of it all…
