The Trailer For ‘Creed 2’ Is Finally Here And It Has Us Pumped Up And Ready For The Action!

There aren’t many franchises that continue to produce the way Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky franchise does decade after decade. Star Wars is the only one that immediately comes to mind, but the way that the Rocky series has been able to transition into the Creed series is nothing short of impressive. Fans have been itching to see how the sequel will stack up to Creed without Ryan Coogler behind the lens, especially now that his star is on the rise after the astronomical success of Black Panther. However, with Michael B. Jordan back as Adonis Creed, things are still looking good!

The team behind Creed 2 is starting to ramp up the hype for this film, much like a prize-fight. They released the film’s official movie poster yesterday with a promise that the trailer was on the way. Proving their word is golden, the trailer dropped today (June 20th). Let’s take a look at the poster first…

We’ve had some light shed on the sequel by the film’s writer, Cheo Hodari Coker, as well.  During an interview with /Film promoting the second season of Luke Cage, Coker also talked about writing Creed 2:

“It’s about the legacies of sons haunted by their fathers. Even though Drago is alive, his son is haunted by him because Drago is a broken man who’s trying to rebuild himself through the son. Apollo Creed isn’t broken but because Apollo died, Adonis Creed is still haunted by his father’s death and how it defined him, what it is it means now to be a champion. He’s aspiring to be a champion but also at the same time trying to figure out who it is he is. Particularly with Bianca, particularly also because he’s got Rocky who at this point becomes the new Mickey.”

If the trailer is any indication of how good the final product is going to be, the film is going to meet the expectations fans have coming into it. Check it out below!
