You would think that it would be hard enough to make a film that is the culmination of 10 years and 18 movies with a cast of over 75 characters that fans have all grown to love over the past decade. If you’re Marvel Studios and the Russo Brothers, you decide that you’re going to do that and also make a second one right on the heels of that before you even complete the first. I guess when you have all of those actors together, it’s better to knock them out at basically the same time.
Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 is a two-part epic of sorts, and the Russo Brothers took on an incredible task by making them so close together. They’re currently on the road for the press tour to promote the first of the two, coming to theaters on April 27th, and are getting asked every question under the sun. Some of those questions are receiving the cliche answers, some aren’t being answered at all as to not spoil the movie, but some are getting some pretty great responses.
One of these questions, posed by GamesRadar during the London stop of the worldwide press tour, asked Joe and Anthony Russo which of the two films was more difficult to make. While the question was good, the answer was even more interesting…
Joe Russo – “Good question. I think [Infinity War] only because it was a compressed time frame and we were posting it while we were shooting Avengers 4.”
Anthony Russo – “We were really doing double duty while we were making that movie.”
This means they were doing post-production on one blockbuster while filming the other. No easy task by any stretch of the imagination, but everyone who has seen Infinity War is singing its praises. You can get your first look when it hits theaters on April 27th. Avengers 4 is due in theaters on May 5th, 2019!
