We are one week before the release of Black Panther and the final piece of the puzzle is in place, right before the film releases worldwide.
Black Panther: The Album is finally available.
Previously released were three tracks from the album, but now all 14 tracks are available to stream and purchase. The album was curated and produced by Kendrick Lamar, who is also a performer on many of the tracks.
Also featured are a collection of prominent figures in both hip-hop and R&B, along with several label-mates of Top Dawg Entertainment. The album was co-produced with TDE co-founder, Anthony Tiffith.
The complete track listing is below:
Director of the film, Ryan Coogler, had said that his partnership with Kendrick Lamar is something he had long been working towards.
“I’ve been a massive Kendrick fan ever since I first heard him, since his mixtapes, and I’ve been trying to track him down,” Coogler said. “Eventually I caught up with him a couple years ago — first with Anthony ‘Top Dawg’ Tiffith, who runs his label, and then later on sat down with him and Kendrick and just spoke about much his music affected me. He talked about my movies that he had seen, and we said if the opportunity comes, we’d love to work with each other on something.”
