Sunday was Hollywood’s biggest night, the Academy Awards. The stars put on their best outfits and made their way to the Dolby Theater to celebrate the greatest performances of the year in film. Hundreds of people were in attendance to celebrate the Oscars, from writers and costume designers to directors and actors, from all around the world. One special group of people that happened to be in attendance were some people from a newly-publicized country, Wakanda.
Oscar nominee Daniel Kaluuya was joined by Chadwick Boseman, Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong’o, and Winston Duke at the Oscars, and with great praise.

Host Jimmy Kimmel opened the show with a monologue summing up the ups and downs of the year, and didn’t forget to mention the tidal wave of success for Black Panther since it’s release three weeks prior.
“It is a night for positivity. And our plan is to shine a light on a group of outstanding and inspiring films, each and every one of which got crushed by Black Panther this weekend. That’s okay,” Kimmel said, to universal applause and laughter. The camera then panned to cast of Black Panther in the audience, and they were all smiles.
