Last week, E3 debuted a spectacular gameplay trailer for Sony and Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4. The highly anticipated game had all of E3 buzzing, especially after the reveal of the trailer, which showed a whole roster of famous Spider-Man villains all coming out to cause chaos in the new game.
Electro, Rhino, and Vulture all appeared in the trailer, to name a few. But that’s not all we found out during E3 week. Even though the game is being created around the same time as Spider-Man’s appearance in the MCU, the game isn’t exactly coinciding with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man timeline. While film characters like Aunt May and Vulture are included in the game, there are many characters in Marvel’s Spider-Man that have not appeared in the MCU but have appeared in other films or other platforms.
Fans that attended E3 may have spotted a real-life Daily Bugle issue making its way around the expo hall. For those lucky fans who did, the issue was actually packed with hints and Easter eggs regarding the new game and a lot of other Marvel characters.
The ad for the 19th century home at 890 5th Avenue is a nod to the comicbook address of the Avengers mansion. The “prolific NYC industrialist” could mean Tony Stark, considering he owns the mansion in the comics.
