An automated market research tech provider, ZappiStore, had given fans of both DC and Marvel films a chance to be part of a study involving their emotional engagement with the material. Participants only need an internet connection and a webcam to take part.
ZappiStore uses a facial coding and emotional recognition software called Affectiva to monitor the expressions happening in each moment of viewing. As an example, the viewer above is watching an episode of CBS’s Friends with Better Lives and her emotional responses are being measured below.
