Netflix has recently announced that Stranger Things has officially been renewed for a third season.
The show’s incredible popularity and subsequent renewal from the network should come as no surprise to fans of Stranger Thing‘s first two seasons.
The announcement was shared on Twitter on December 1st as a humorous response to Netflix’s question: “Should we make another season of Stranger Things?” After taking a fan poll, the company tweeted: “FOR THE LOVE OF STEVE, DUH! So hold tight baby darts – Season 3 is officially happening.”

When the first season of Stranger Things debuted on Netflix, this is how the network described the show: “A love letter to the ’80s classics that captivated a generation, Stranger Things is set in 1983 Indiana, where a young boy vanishes into thin air. As friends, family, and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces, and one very strange little girl.”
The series was such a hit that the second season was confirmed and released on October 27th, 2017 to further critical acclaim.
It’s unclear as to what the plot for season three will be, and the release date is a mystery as well. However, fans are more than happy to speculate and can rest assured that their favorite show will certainly be coming back to Netflix.
