With 10 years and 18 films’ worth of backstory converging into one giant event we know as Avengers: Infinity War, it’s no surprise that everyone involved has said how difficult it was to pull off. It would’ve been hard enough for a cast and crew to produce had they been working with each other the entire time, but that isn’t the case at all. There have been so many different writers, directors, actors, and crew members on each set that coming together for one common goal was going to take an insane amount of precision to accomplish, but accomplish it they have!
With the difficulty surrounding the production, it would seem that tensions would run high on set, but that’s not the feeling we’ve gotten at all. From everything we’ve seen leading up to this point, the folks involved have seen this more as an opportunity for greatness rather than a task. The directors from the franchises coming into the fold have been helpful to the Russo Brothers. One example of that is James Gunn helping with some of the Guardians of the Galaxy character’s dialogue. The actors have also embraced the converging storylines, which we’ve now been able to see bits of.
Marvel released a video full of behind-the-scenes footage of the cast working together and getting to know one another in a way we haven’t quite seen before with this film. Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), and Danai Gurira (Okoye) all talk about working with each other, with some well-timed jokes along the way. Knowing how close many of these characters are on-screen, it’s a pleasure to see that their friendships continue off-screen as well. There’s even some additional Infinity War footage sprinkled throughout.
Come see them all together in a battle against evil when Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on April 27th.
