In another bold step forward, with recently appointed Editor-In-Chief C.B. Cebulski leading the charge, Marvel Comics will be moving into a “fresh start” relaunch once again. The roster seems to include the return of the “Big Three” Avengers, Steve Rogers aka Captain America, Tony Stark as Iron Man, and Thor Odinson wielding a new golden hammer to match his new arm.
Comicbook fans got a peek into the future with Russell Dauterman’s splash page of The Mighty Thor #700, seeing the eventual demise of Jane Foster and subsequent bequeathment of her powers back to Odinson.
Both Iron Man and Cap will reach their milestone issues within the coming months in Iron Man #600 and Captain America #700, prompting the return of their original alter-egos. Dan Slott will be handling Iron Man after Brian Michael Bendis’s leave, and it’s entirely possible that writer Mark Waid and artist Chris Samnee will be moving on from Cap after his 700th issue, with Marvel moving in favor of adding some new blood to the proceedings.
