Marvel Announces New ‘Asgardians Of The Galaxy’ Comicbook Series Coming This Fall

Earlier this year, we saw the end of the Guardians of the Galaxy comicbook run, capping at issue #150. Since then, we’ve been able to keep up with the crew a little in the Infinity Countdown series focusing on select characters and groups all battling it out for dominance over the Infinity Stones. With that said, there isn’t much slated for the Guardians in the comicbook world or the Marvel Cinematic Universe for quite some time, no matter how badly we’d love to have them return.

But Marvel, as always, certainly has something up their sleeves. They’ve been teasing an interesting development to hit home this fall, and it just may fill the void that the Guardians will leave in their absence.

Oh yeah! The Asgardians of the Galaxy is a real deal, and we’ll finally get a real look at it in September. In the meantime, some teaser content has hit the Internet with an official press release from Marvel. The highly decorated writer, Cullen Bunn, who’s worked on a number of Deadpool, Venom, and X-Men comicbooks, to name a few, will be teaming up with the brilliant artistic talent of  Matteo Lolli.

From the looks of it, Asgardians of the Galaxy is going to be pretty action-packed, with more armor-clad heroes than you could swing an ax at. Although it doesn’t appear from the cover that we’ll be getting a look at the Warriors Three or Thor Odinson himself in the lineup, we will, however, get a close look at his half-sister Angela and others in this cool comicbook run!

Here’s what Marvel had to say about the upcoming Asgardians of the Galaxy comicbook series in their official press release:

“Spinning out of the events of INFINITY WARS comes an epic space-opera from the superstar team of Cullen Bunn and Matteo Lolli! ANGELA, the not-so-beloved half-sister of Thor. The hotheaded VALKYRIE – and the human who shares her form, Annabelle Riggs. SKURGE the EXECUTIONER, freshly returned from Hel. THROG, the mightiest frog of thunder. Kevin Masterson, the boy who took his father’s mace to become the hero THUNDERSTRIKE. And the DESTROYER, the Asgardian armor built to take down Celestials – its wielder unknown.”
