In celebration of a decade-long milestone, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has joined together in the IMAX format, giving moviegoers an unforgettable experience. When it comes to enjoying a film without any visual barriers, IMAX has been the gold viewing standard for years. Its appeal grew exponentially after the release of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight with Warner Bros.
While it has taken some time for Marvel to accompany DC in the IMAX race, films from Iron Man 2 to Black Panther have taken advantage of the format.
The only films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that did not receive any IMAX mastering were Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, and Captain America: The First Avenger, opting for a standard theatrical release and depriving fans of a unique movie-going experience.
Recently, IMAX has posted a video on both Twitter and YouTube filled with small interview tidbits of the cast and crew from Marvel Studios. They certainly appear excited about the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, which is the first Hollywood movie to film entirely on IMAX/Arri 2D cameras.
