Mark Ruffalo Explains Reshoots And The Ever-Changing ‘Avengers 4’

If you’ve been paying attention to the news surrounding the Marvel Cinematic Universe lately, you know that Avengers 4 is currently reshooting many scenes to finish up the film just eight months away from opening night. While much of the film was shot around the same time as Avengers: Infinity War, the Russo Brothers are still capturing footage to finally get enough for their “final cut.” The film is also in post-production at the moment and likely will stay that way until the last minute.

Many actors and their characters have been rumored to be involved in the film, Howard Stark being the most recent, and we’ve even gotten photos from on the set of the reshoots confirming a few. Both Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson were spotted on set recently, with the latter sporting her character’s classic red hair. Paul Rudd, whose Ant-Man wasn’t in Infinity War was also spotted on the set for reshoots, and he’s someone who is going to factor into Avengers 4 greatly if all of the speculation surrounding the movie turns out to be true.

With everyone still working on the film, Mark Ruffalo was asked to speak about it on The Marvelists: The MCU Podcast. He spoke about how the film is ever-changing and where the Russo Brothers were headed with the film by saying:

“I don’t even know that they really know exactly. Some of it [the story] is happening while we’re there. It’s pretty amazing. And we’ll shoot some stuff and a few days later come back and reshoot it cause we wanna take it in another direction. It’s a very living organism, even as we approach it being a locked picture, we’re still working on it.”

Knowing how secretive the directors and Marvel Studios is with these films, some of these reshoots may be smokescreens to keep the actors from knowing the true film.
