M. Night Shyamalan has one of the most anticipated trilogy films in a long time on the way. What makes this one so special is the fact that prior to the twist at the end of Split, something that we should always see coming with him, we had no idea that this was even a possibility. When Bruce Willis’ David Dunn shows up at the diner to mention Mr. Glass, everyone in the theater that held a certain affinity for Unbreakable lost their collective minds.
Glass will be the third film in this series, with a release date of January 18th, 2019, and we’re finally starting to get some promotion released in support of it. If you follow Shyamalan on Twitter, this doesn’t come as much of a surprise, but the director has been sharing updates about the film recently. He’s currently in the editing process, but one more bit of information he shared was… Glass will be at the 2018 San Diego Comic-Con!

With Glass having a spot at Hall H, folks are already speculating that not only will Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, and James McAvoy be there, but that Shyamalan will be bringing more footage with him. At CinemaCon earlier this year, he shared the first bit of footage which showed Sarah Paulson’s character, Dr. Ellie Staple, interviewing Willis’ Dunn, Jackson’s Mr. Glass, and McAvoy’s multi-personality character in jail, but it was never made public. With SDCC, fans are hoping to see more footage, which will hopefully be released publicly afterward. Shyamalan also told the crowd at CinemaCon that Glass will be the, “first really grounded superhero film,” and added, “Finally the thriller genre and the comic book genre have come together.”
While we’re not sure exactly what they will do at SDCC, they have released the first movie poster for the film, and it has us even more pumped for Glass. All three characters are shown in prison or institutionalized in some form or fashion, but from what’s been said, that won’t last too long as there will be some sort of escape happening. Check out the poster below!
