‘Luke Cage’ Season 2 Full Trailer Shows New And Old Villains In Harlem

The new season of Luke Cage is almost here, but there are still many pieces to the puzzle of the bullet-proof Defender of Harlem/s continuation story. However, with two trailers, some stills, and some new casting information, we are almost there. With the second standalone season and the fourth appearance for Luke Cage premiering in June, it’s time to take a look at what we know, and we can do that very well since the first full trailer for Season 2 has just dropped.

Since Cage’s first appearance in the first season of Jessica Jones, we have seen that the guy just wants to do right, but nefarious characters keep obstructing his desire for a calm life. In the first season of his show, Cage goes head to head with “Cottonmouth” Stokes and his evil half-brother, “Diamondback” Stryker, to name a couple of his foes. Both of them were handled in one way or another, but the villain that still needs to be dealt with is Councilwoman Mariah Dillard, who secretly remained the puppetmaster of much of the crime in Harlem and trouble that came to Cage.

The Season 2 synopsis reads:

Luke Cage is back.

After clearing his name, Luke Cage has become a celebrity on the streets of Harlem with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin. But being so visible has only increased his need to protect the community and find the limits of who he can and can’t save. With the rise of a formidable new foe, Luke is forced to confront the fine line that separates a hero from a villain.

We have since learned that Cage would be teaming up with bionic-armed Officer Misty Knight and his Defender friend Danny Rand, but who is the “formidable new foe” that he will face? Some casting information revealed that the comicbook villain Rosalie Carbone would be coming to Harlem in the form of Anabella Sciorra.

This already gives us two to three villainous characters to expect in Season 2, but the new trailer brings yet another facet into the criminal underworld of the MCU’s New York.
