Ant-Man and the Wasp is officially less than one week away from opening in theaters across the United States, and the cast and crew have been making their rounds with the media in support of the film. With each stop on the press tour, we learn more and more about the past, present, and future of the Ant-Man franchise. While most questions, answers, and comments are pretty cliché, every now and then we get something that helps tie in different moments from the films to the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.
During the press junket for Ant-Man and the Wasp, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige spoke about a long-believed theory from the first film that it was, in fact, Janet van Dyne’s reflection that some people saw when Ant-Man traveled to the Quantum Realm. With her rescue being such a big plot point of the film, it was generally assumed, but when Feige was asked if they used that to set up the sequel he confirmed it as fact:
“In the first film it was, we got a glimpse of it for people who like to go through frame-by-frame, there was a little silhouette of Janet as the Wasp in there, which is a big story element in this movie.”
Also on the press tour is Scott Lang himself, Paul Rudd. Earlier this week, he sat down with the hosts of Good Morning America, had a few laughs, and talked all things Ant-Man. During the interview, they showed an extended clip of the film that we’ve seen on some of the TV spots where he has a superhero’s version of a wardrobe malfunction. If you haven’t seen this yet, it’s rather funny… Check it out below!
