Jeff Goldblum Discusses Grandmaster’s Fate After ‘Infinity War’ And His Future In The MCU

There is no doubt that Thanos snapping his fingers after acquiring all six of the Infinity Stones has hard effects that stretch all the way across the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We know the damage it did to the characters that were included in Avengers: Infinity War, but what about those who weren’t featured? With all of the original Avengers keeping their lives, it’s probably safe to assume that Hawkeye also escaped being turned to dust. Leaked photos from the set of Avengers 4 have shown Ant-Man involved so he looks to be OK, but we’re still not sure about The Wasp.

With Ant-Man and the Wasp taking place in between Captain America: Civil War and Infinity War, it could be possible that the events of Infinity War have some sort of impact on the film, which opens in theaters on July 6th. Only time will tell, but Evangeline Lilly has already confirmed that The Wasp has a small part in Avengers 4. What that is, we don’t know.

How about the other, smaller characters who have shown up in past MCU films? Did Thor’s ex-girlfriend, Jane Foster survive? How about Korg, Meik, and the rest of the cast from Thor: Ragnarok? We’ve already gotten word that Valkyrie made the cut, and now we’ve been told by Jeff Goldblum himself that the Grandmaster also survived.

Goldblum is currently promoting Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and during an interview with Digital Spy, this is what he had to say about Grandmaster’s fate…

“Grandmaster is more superheroed than all of them put together. You can’t kill me, I’m like a vampire. I’m deathless and I can kill people by looking at them. Or I can resurrect them just by looking at them and thinking of them. I can do everything. Being able to do all of that, all I want to do is play games. So really, I’m everywhere and nowhere. I’m like Keyser Söze.”

This is great news for anyone who wanted to see Mr. Goldblum in future MCU films, something he said he was open to doing. “I could be, potentially, very much around. Anything they want me to do I’d be ready and able,” he teased. Either way. we’ll get to see how the Infinity War story plays out next year when Avengers 4 opens in theaters on May 3rd, 2019. Also, you can see Jeff Goldblum reprise his role as Ian Malcolm when Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is released on June 22nd, 2018.
