When it comes to casting for a film, especially a franchise that is guaranteed to have sequels, it’s very important for the casting director to make the right choice. Sometimes a part is written for a specific actor and sometimes there’s an audition process, but at the end of the day, if the wrong people are put in place it could spell disaster.
In the case of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it seems like they’ve gotten it right just about every time. That statement is backed up by the adoration of fans and success at the box office, but what if the MCU didn’t start in 2008 and instead started in the 90s? Could you imagine what would’ve been and who would’ve starred as our favorite superheroes? One artist did just that. With the help of photoshop, Instagram user @houseofmat released some pretty incredible reimaginings of the MCU. Check them out below…
Before we get into the reimaginings, we wanted to showcase some of his other work. His fan-made movie poster of Thanos and The Black Order from Avengers: Infinity War is an excellent display of his talent and love for the MCU!
Falcon, Iron Man, Thor
Were there any bigger stars in the 90’s than these three? Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise could bring back the chemistry they had in Interview With a Vampire by starring as Thor and Tony Stark, and Eddie Murphy would bring the humor and presence on screen as Sam Wilson.
Vision, Captain America, Hawkeye, War Machine, The Wasp
Talk about star power! Dolph Lundgren, Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp, Cuba Gooding, Jr., and Sandra Bullock are here replacing Paul Bettany, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, and Evangeline Lilly, and as much as we love our current stars, could you imagine?
