With Kevin Feige at the helm of Marvel Studios, the Marvel Cinematic Universe began rolling out content with the intent to have storytelling tie movies together across the next decade in a way that has never been experienced before. This year marked the end of the first decade of films which is planning to end with a humongous bang. Following a tremendously successful run with Black Panther will be the release of Avengers: Infinity War next month. But many are questioning how other Marvel films in the cinematic universe will relate to the third Avengers story, especially concerning the likes of Captain Marvel and Ant-Man and the Wasp.
The sometimes pint-sized duo Ant-Man and the Wasp will be hitting the big screen on July 6th and will be going through its own developments in the universe sometime during/around the events of Infinity War.
Joe Russo, one of the producer/directors of Ant-Man and the Wasp, spoke about it connecting into the MCU around the events of Infinity War, saying, “They all lead in in their own way, I think. As far as plot elements that actually drive towards the story, again, I think Marvel does a great job of segmenting the movies so that you can have your own experience in each film. I think from a plot standpoint, if there’s any corollary, Ant-Man 2 probably has some elements that stitch in.”
You can expect Ant-Man and the Wasp to revisit the Quantum Realm again in the film, possibly to deal with the villain known as Ghost, portrayed by actress Hannah John-Kame. If in fact that is the case, it could make for an acceptable reason why the duo may be absent during the events of Infinity War. Insert some sort of cosmic happening or revelation and there you have it!
