Here Are Some Joyous July Holidays To Celebrate This Month!

We have officially reached 2018’s halfway mark! How about celebrating that milestone with a mix of breezy, enriching, unique, and all-around entertaining monthly holidays? Sound good? Hopefully it does, because we’ve selected a few for you to enjoy.

July 3: Stay Out of the Sun Day

What a cruel thing to do, parking this holiday in the middle of summer! (Well, it’s summer for a large sector of our readers, at least.) While we usually advocate for outdoor exploration, that encouragement comes with a caveat; Not to be a Debbie Downer or anything, but UV radiation emitted from the sun can cause substantial damage to your skin, which is why it’s always recommended to wear sunscreen outside, even if the sun isn’t out – UV rays can still pass through clouds, after all! OK, so maybe you should take a break from the sunlight today if only to prep yourself for a (hopefully) spectacular day outdoors tomorrow…

July 8: SCUD Day

In case you were wondering – and you were, weren’t you? – SCUD stands for “Savor the Comic, Unplug the Drama.” For this holiday, “comic” refers to humor, not books… but let’s just substitute comicbooks in, shall we? Do you have a particular title that you cherish? If so, dust it off and give it a read today! (On another note, did you know there is a comicbook called Scud? How convenient!)

July 11: Cheer Up the Lonely Day

This is one of those acts you should strive to do often, because it’s a win-win. Need some suggestions for today? We’ve got plenty! It’s summertime, so if someone you know needs a pick-me-up, take them out for a stroll or a hike, if they’d like. Or perhaps make a special delivery with their favorite cuisine or reading material (the recently relaunched Captain America #1, anyone?). What about a movie? We’ve heard there are some marvelous ones in theaters lately… and the list goes on! If all else fails, the above picture should at least put a smile on their face. Whatever you choose to do, we’re sure it will brighten someone’s day.
