The Amazing Spider-Man is easily one of the most beloved Marvel characters of all time. Over the course of the years since his entrance into the universe, dozens of variations of the hero through comicbooks and even a handful of different actors in Hollywood have taken their stab at the “wall crawler” to give the audience their interpretation of what Peter Parker could bring to this already rich and thriving world.
In the most recent film Spider-Man: Homecoming, actor Tom Holland plays Peter Parker in that whole “I’m just a kid from Queens” sort of way. His efforts got him a bunch of praise, and overall, the tides seemed to be pretty pleased with the direction of the film as it relates to the rest of the MCU.
Now with things rolling forth full-speed, you can expect a sequel in the not too distant future. Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 is staged to hit the big screen July 5th, 2019, just after Infinity War and Avengers 4 have their opportunity to make a mark. Many are speculating how the storyline and supporting cast will look for this highly anticipated film, especially since Thanos and the Black Order still have yet to touch down on Earth and do what they will. But Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios has already assured that your favorite web-slinger will be in all three of the aforementioned films for certain.
Fear not, a lot of interesting developments are on the horizon! With Marvel’s Venom on the way and Sony pushing out Silver & Black, there is a lot of potential for something cool to be concocted since they technically take place in the same reality.
Cameron Bolomolo of CB said: “Sony Pictures, who has a deal in place with Disney-owned Marvel Studios allowing them to integrate Spider-Man into the shared Marvel Cinematic Universe, are moving forward with planned Silver Sable and Black Cat team-up movie, Silver & Black.”
In the meanwhile, longtime casting director, Sarah Finn, is on the hunt for someone to fill some important shoes in Homecoming 2.
