Evangeline Lilly’s Reaction To The Wasp’s Link To ‘Infinity War’ Is How We’d All Feel

**Spoilers for Ant-Man and the Wasp below!**

The Wasp finally got her chance to suit up and enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe officially in Ant-Man and the Wasp a few months ago. The film was the next one in line after Avengers: Infinity War dramatically wrecked most of the characters in the MCU, so the movie, for the most part, carried a much lighter tone which was certainly appreciated after we all had our hearts ripped out of our chest.

One thing of note was that Ant-Man and the Wasp took place before the events of Avengers: Infinity War. While watching the movie it felt almost as if it was in its own pocket of existence as we really began to focus in on the importance of the Quantum Realm. It wasn’t until the mid-credit scene that it was confirmed that there was some time overlapping between the two films, specifically involving Thanos’ infamous finger snap.

The mid-credit scene showed Scott Lang, AKA Ant-Man, taking another deep dive into the Quantum Realm to harvest some sort of energy that’s found there. Unfortunately for Lang, he ends up being left hanging by Hope van Dyne and her two parents as they are amongst the unlucky casualties of Thanos’ plan to eradicate half of all life in the universe. Watching Ant-Man float helplessly in the Quantum Realm while simultaneously being able to piece together the horror of what’s happened was probably the heaviest revelation the film had to offer, and it really helped to set the tone for the next two movies in line, Captain Marvel and Avengers 4.

With the Wasp only now just getting her footing in the MCU you can bet that this development took her somewhat by surprise. According to CinemaBlend, Evangeline Lilly had this to say about her untimely death and connection to the events of Infinity War:

“My honest reaction was, ‘Okay, so how is she going to get out of this?’ And my kind of full reaction was like, ‘Hang on a minute! I just got here! You can’t kill me already! I just got here!'”

Evangeline Lilly is set to return in some capacity when the untitled Avengers 4 hits theaters on May 3rd next year, so hopefully, we’ll find out that her demise wasn’t among the permanent ones.
