Doing Whatever a Spider Can: 13 Alternate Versions of Spider-Man

In a recent post comicbook.com stated:

“When someone talks about Spider-Man, they’re typically referring to Peter Parker. You know, the kid who was bitten by a radioactive spider, watched his uncle die in the street and swings around New York in a red suit.”

Ol’ Web-Head has been part of the pop culture landscape for over fifty years now, and while most people do tend to think of Aunt May’s nephew from Earth-616 as the boy in the red and blue pajamas, recent years have seen the rise of Miles Morales, formerly of the Ultimate universe (Earth-1610), as fans’ go-to Arach-knight.

Morales’s claim to the name will only solidify in the coming year as Sony Pictures Animation begins to promote their Christmas 2018 theatrical release Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which will feature Miles in the lead (although a cameo from Parker and perhaps other Spideys are hinted at in the trailer below.)

However, as Dan Slott’s 2014 comicbook event “Spider-Verse” showed, there are perhaps an infinite amount of wall-crawlers spinning webs throughout the multi-verse, and we here at TheRealStanLee.com felt that it was time to take a look at a baker’s dozen of some favorites and some far-out variants.
