Doctor Strange 2? MCU Director Returns To Twitter, And The Speculation Begins!

If there is one thing that the Internet and social media are good for it’s blowing things completely out of proportion and taking things out of context and creating stories where there are none. Much like the Internet and social media, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (and the websites that write about them) know how to take one small bit of information and create entire theories based around them. The anticipation for the next chapter in the MCU gets the best of us. Plus, discussing and debating these kinds of things with our friends are some of the best times.

We’ll give you an example of making a mountain out of a molehill… When Robert Downey Jr. gave a recent interview from the set of Avengers 4, he did so in a place with a familiar background. Internet detectives noticed it was one of the set pieces from Shuri’s lab. Now, instead of just chalking it up to RDJ being on set and them choosing that spot randomly, fans and websites (including TRSL.com) ran with the story and assumed that his location for the interview was a clue telling us that Tony Stark and Princess Shuri would finally share scenes together. We would finally have a meeting between two of the brightest minds in the MCU! This isn’t to say it won’t happen, it absolutely can and might, actually… but it also might not.

Keeping to the theme, there’s been a new revelation on Twitter that has fans of the MCU stirring. We know that there are a few films being worked on in Phase 4 of the MCU, which kicks off with Spider-Man: Far From Home, but with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 being held up at the moment, everyone keeps asking about Doctor Strange 2… Well, Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson has returned to Twitter. What does this mean for Doctor Strange 2? Possibly nothing, but it could mean he’s making himself available publicly again to get some momentum behind the film. He had been off of the platform since November of 2017, but on September 10th he returned. Hopefully, it’s a sign of things to come, and Doctor Strange 2 is on the way sooner than later!

Regardless of if it means anything, Derrickson is a great follow, and he also makes it a point to reference Doctor Strange and even drop teasers on occasion…

We’ll bring any updates we have in terms of MCU news when it becomes available…
