Action movies look a whole lot different than they did in the past. With the advancements in technology involving both the cameras directors are able to use and in post-production, there are almost no limits to what is able to be accomplished these days. Add that to the ambition that directors in the genre have for creating intriguing films packed to the gills with adrenaline-inducing scenes and you’ve got a recipe for some of the most grandiose movies we’ve seen in the action world.
One of these directors is David Leitch. You’ll probably recognize his name from his work on John Wick and Atomic Blonde. Marvel fans will certainly recognize his name as he’s directing Deadpool 2. Fans of The Fast and Furious franchise will also be getting acquainted with Leitch now that he’s been hired to direct the Hobbs and Shaw spin-off. Leitch isn’t simply a director, he’s been in the business as a writer, an actor, stuntman, stunt coordinator, and producer. He knows his way around a set, especially when it comes to action films.
With Leitch now being attached to the Dwayne Johnson/Jason Statham led Fast family spin-off, he’s got some big names trying to line up for a role in the film. One of those names is Wade Wilson. Maybe he’s just trying to broaden his range. Maybe his propensity to break the fourth wall has become so ingrained in his psyche that he’s jumping franchise barriers too. Or, maybe, just maybe, Ryan Reynolds loves making jokes as Deadpool… Either way, it’s always good to jump onto Twitter and see The Merc With A Mouth up to his normal shenanigans.
You promised Deadpool was in this. You said I get to play the no-nonsense Police Chief, who yells at Hobbs for crashing his 58 valve Nissan Sentra into an Olive Garden. Put me in coach.

Not content with being a punchline in one of his jokes, Olive Garden responded to Reynolds’ quip with one of their own…
Totally unacceptable, who else will defend our honor and our unlimited breadsticks? 🤷🏼♀️ You're the hero we need. pic.twitter.com/3Ccd3DPuu3

And, so did Nissan…

With so much of the attention focused on Avengers: Infinity War, it’s almost easy to forget that Deadpool 2 will be hitting theaters on May 18th… Almost!
