‘Deadpool 2’ Released Three TV Spots Last Night During ‘The Walking Dead’

What’s better than one promotional spot for Deadpool 2? Two, and what’s better than two? Three, of course! In preparation for the upcoming release of presale tickets for Deadpool 2, the marketing team behind the film has released a trio of promo spots to alert the public of the news. While not much of the film’s plot is known by the public, it’s still one of the most anticipated movies of the year. The film’s basic synopsis reads…

“Wisecracking mercenary Deadpool battles the evil and powerful Cable and other bad guys to save a boy’s life.”

What we do know is that the film is being directed by David Leitch, director of Atomic Blonde and co-director of John Wick, who took over for Tim Miller after creative differences led to him leaving the director’s chair. There’s also a group of new characters being introduced to the fray, and it will set up the upcoming X-Force film. With so much attention being focused on Avengers: Infinity War, it’s likely that the marketing team behind Deadpool 2 is waiting for some free space to promote the film. However, they did release three TV spots during last night’s episode of The Walking Dead.

The first sets up the beginning of the trailer that many of us have already seen, but it does open up with some in-theater dialogue from the Merc with a Mouth…

The second and third spot are also taken from the original trailer, well, the green-band version of the trailer. Check them out below…

It’s only a matter of time before we get some new footage and plot points for the film. From everything we’ve seen so far it looks outstanding, and Rob Liefeld, the creator of Deadpool and Cable, has gone on record saying, “Deadpool was Alien. It’s brilliant. It completely works. It’s a masterpiece. Deadpool 2 is Aliens. It’s when James Cameron came in and said, ‘OK you want me to do this? We’re going to make it bigger, put in loads more action.’” Catch it in Theaters on May 18th!
