‘Deadpool 2’ Director Eyed For ‘Fast & Furious’ Spin-Off With Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson

One of Universal’s top-earning film franchises dates back to the year 2001 when tales of espionage, big-time heists, and street racing manifested into The Fast and the Furious series. Since the first film, a slew of sequels came forward, making the Fast & Furious film series the sixth-highest-grossing of all time.

The franchise has gone on to gross $5.1 billion since the first entry and has boasted action stars like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham joining the cast in later sequels.

After eight films and two shorts, the Fast & Furious will be getting a new spin-off (currently untitled) featuring the acting talents of Statham and Johnson. As far as who will direct, Universal has their eyes set on someone that is notably creative with his action scenes as demonstrated by his work on the first John Wick film.
