The roster for Marvel’s Netflix TV universe has almost had a complete year with new seasons of Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist all premiering with new seasons. The only one that is left is the Defender who started it all, Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil. After last summer’s joint season of The Defenders, the rest of the characters presumed Murdock’s character to be dead. The last scene showed that Murdock not only survived but was also reunited with his mother who had not been mentioned in the show until that moment.
It’s almost cruel how we were left with such a big cliffhanger and have to wait this long to see it fixed! Having said that, stirrings are beginning from the powers that be (Netflix and Marvel Studios) that may indicate that the wait is almost over for the third season of Daredevil.
The marketing materials for the next season of Daredevil have been virtually nonexistent so far. This is understandable considering the three other shows have been higher up on the docket, with premieres in March, June, and September. It seems that the streets of New York have been semi under control by the other Defenders, but it looks like it’s almost time for Matt Murdock’s mysterious absence to finally come to an end, and that’s just what Marvel Studios is thinking too.
This week, only a few days before the release of season two of Iron Fist mind you, the Marvel Twitter account posted a short video depicting a missing sign for none other than Hell’s Kitchen’s own, Matt Murdock.
This poster came as a shock to fans who haven’t heard about Murdock in ages. Not only that, but the Twitter accounts of all of the other Defenders (Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist) each tweeted a response to the poster Tweet, showing that within the fictional world of the TV universe, Matt Murdock’s death is still a soft spot and a missing poster is news to all of them as well! This could mean that someone out there knows Murdock is still alive or at least refuses to believe the official story of his death…

Not too long ago, Netflix CCO Ted Sarandos spoke about the plans for the rest of the year for the streaming network and he included Daredevil in the list of shows that were on the docket to release in 2018. Perhaps this is finally the beginning of the marketing timeline for Daredevil’s long-awaited third season!
In the meantime, Iron Fist season two is now available to stream on Netflix.
