Black Panther On DVD Due To Hit Shelves With Loads Of Extras, Here’s What’s To Come

When Black Panther was due to be released in February, it was expected to do well with fans and at the box office. When it actually did hit the theaters, those expectations were dwarfed by the overwhelming praise it received from fans and critics alike, and it crushed box office expectations becoming the most successful solo Marvel Studios release to date. Now, Marvel Studios is hoping that success moves into retail with the release of Black Panther on DVD.

It doesn’t look like they’re banking on the fact that everyone loved the film so much that they’re going to run out and buy the DVD either. They’ve loaded this release up with extras out of the wazoo. They’re including the classic gag reel, of course, that shows us just how much fun the cast and crew have when they make these films, along with plenty of behind-the-scenes footage to satisfy those of us who like to peek behind the curtain. What makes this special is the Black Panther-exclusive pieces included.

“Crowning of a New King” dives into the world of Wakanda and Black Panther to explore everything there is to discover on the MCU’s new terrain. “The Hidden Kingdom Revealed” explores the people of Wakanda, their traditions, and their diversity. There’s also a special feature titled “Marvel Studios the First Ten Years: Connecting the Universe” which will look back at all of the films and how they connect, and in what will likely be the most exciting, there’s “The Warrior’s Within” which gives us an in-depth look at the Dora Milaje, the women warriors of Wakanda.

To top things off, it looks like there’s also going to be a new look at Ant-Man and the Wasp, which hits theaters on July 6th. Make sure you pick up your copy of Black Panther when it hits stores on May 8th, and check out this preview video below!
