The day was April 27th, 2018. The theater was dark and quiet, but not like normal. While movie theaters tend to be pretty quiet, sans the sipping of drinks and ruffling of snacks, this quiet was more of a hush over the crowd. Thanos had just sat down on his farm to “finally rest and watch the sunrise on a grateful universe.” The credits were rolling and every person in the theater was blown away by what they had just witnessed. Did the Avengers and their allies just lose the fight for half of the universe? Did we just watch Star-Lord, Spider-Man, Black Panther and almost everyone else vanish into thin air? What in the world just happened?
What was your reaction to the ending of Avengers: Infinity War? While the theater the staff of TRSL.com looked at each other in disbelief, one man in the theater yelled what we were all thinking, “What the …” Now, as fans, we’re all pretty invested in these characters and storylines. We’ve grown up reading about them, watching them on television, and now in the movies, but what about the actors who actually get to portray them? When they found out what was happening, it must’ve been even more shocking. Not only because you just realized your character was killed off, but it may be time to look for a new job! Luckily, while they’re promoting their other gigs we get to ask them about their thoughts, and who better than the man who has already seen the future, 14,000,605 futures, actually…
During an interview with The Star, while promoting his show Patrick Melrose, Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange) discussed how he felt when he learned the ending of Infinity War and beyond:
“I was thrilled. Thrilled, thrilled, thrilled and thrilled with the pitch for the second film. And thrilled by the ingenuity of the whole thing. And to be in an audience and experience that was something else. I’ve been part of Sherlock, with a very famous cliffhanger. It’s a very brave thing for movies that are that big, bold and colorful.”
If anyone knows how the future will unfold for our heroes it’s the man who plays Doctor Strange. Will he, along with others be back for Avengers 4? Only time will tell, but until then we can all theorize and speculate until the film opens next May. How do you think it will all play out?
