Marvel is about to release Avengers: Infinity War to the public at large, and you can bet that when April 27th finally arrives, it is going to be absolute pandemonium at movie theaters all over the country. Fans have a lot to look forward to with the last 10 years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe leading up to this moment in film history, bringing together comicbook characters that have never been seen together in one film, in a joint effort to tackle the biggest threat that Earth has faced thus far.
The Infinity Gauntlet, and of course the stones that empower it, are going to be a keystone in the next few Marvel movies, including Infinity War. From the trailers for the up and coming film, we can see Thanos adorn the infamous Infinity Gauntlet which heralds the destruction of Earth and more. We know where most of the Infinity Stones are in the universe too, as introduced in the past films. What will be really interesting to see is how Earth fares in protecting the Mind and Time stone in possession of Vision and Dr. Strange.
The Soul Stone is the only one yet to make an appearance, which some suspect Adam Warlock may end up being in possession of when he finally emerges from his cocoon in the not too distant future. Unfortunately for believers in this theory, James Gunn already spoke out and debunked it! Another whispered theory is that it may exist in the Quantum Realm which will be explored more in the upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp film staged to hit theaters after Infinity War. If that happens to be the case, it would make total sense why its presence has gone unnoticed to the human eye.
In any case, there is a lot of excitement surrounding the Gems and the Infinity Gauntlet. Just look at Marvel Vice President, Ryan Penagos, with this cool toy replica at this year’s Toy Fair in the IG post below.
Conventions like this seem to bring the best out of people who really enjoy the culture behind massive franchises like Marvel. C2E2 or the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo highlighted a lot of amazing cosplayers as well, but one fan definitely stole the show and captured the eye of Penagos. See below . . .
Outside of some misplaced Infinity Stones in the Gauntlet, this cosplay is fantastic! Although they didn’t win in the official competition, you can still give a hand to the person inside of the costume that put all of the heart and soul into making it a sight to see at C2E2 this year. Who knows, maybe they’ll wear it to theaters when Avengers: Infinity War arrives on April 27th!
