Avengers: Infinity War is fast approaching, and the end of next month can’t arrive soon enough. However, there has been some news that has helped whet the appetites of Marvel fans anxiously waiting for their heroes to join forces against the viciously evil Thanos and his Black Order. Although most of the film is a mystery, including the fate of some prominent characters, there have been revelations that point to the African nation of Wakanda as the third and final act, bringing the cosmic battle to its final breaths.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige even referred to Black Panther’s homeland as a new “anchor point” in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This change may be due to previous anchors like Asgard falling under the wrath of Surtur in Thor: Ragnarok, leaving its residents stranded in the vast expanse of outer space.
Danai Gurira, who plays Okoye in Black Panther, talked of the influence that Wakanda will have on the rest of the MCU, branching out and lending a hand to other nations. “The preservation of Wakanda has been at their core, and something their forefathers and foremothers put in place for a long time — and it’s worked! They’re a deeply prosperous people for a reason, and now it’s about opening up the borders, and being generous to others beyond Wakanda.”
A recent video has surfaced of some behind-the-scenes footage and interviews that detail some of the goings on in the third act Avengers: Infinity War, which will be featuring T’Challa’s homeland as the primary setting.
