We are currently working our way through Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With four films to go, fans are eagerly waiting for the releases of Avengers: Infinity War and Ant-Man and the Wasp in 2018. Infinity War will be here on April 27th, and the Ant-Man sequel will be here on July 6th.
Starting off 2019 will be the origin story of Captain Marvel, currently scheduled to come out on March 8th. Filming has already begun (check out behind the scenes shots HERE), and with Academy Award-winning actress Brie Larson starring as Carol Danvers, plus with Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck directing, the franchise is in very good hands.
The team behind Captain Marvel is doing a very good job at keeping much of the plot and story hidden from the public, so we don’t know much, but we do know Captain Marvel’s second time showing up in the MCU will come during the final film in Phase Three, Avengers 4. With that film already wrapped, one of the writers of Infinity War and Avengers 4 spoke with ScreenRant about Captain Marvel. Christopher Markus had this to say about her strength:
“Well, super excited to have her—for one thing. You know, that movie does not exist yet so we’re following up on something that is good intentions at the moment. But that’s a power scale that right now doesn’t exist in the MCU.”
