3. Jon Favreau
The Iron Man director and actor took his love of the Marvel character one step further and created a mini-series with artist Adi Granov, who created the armor in the film. Calling the first in its series Iron Man: Viva Las Vegas, Favreau has yet to release a second issue.
This actor, singer, and model had high hopes for being cast as Green Lantern. In the meantime he branched out with his own three-issue co-written series Mayhem. Despite the fact that he had grand visions for the comic, his main drug-lord character project got slammed for having less than ideal marketing tactics. Needless to say, there was a whole lot of mayhem surrounding Mayhem and it never quite got off the ground.
1. Kevin Smith
It’s no surprise that the indie film writer and director of Clerks fame is a huge comic book fan. With View Askewniverse, Green Arrow’s Quiver series and Daredevil’s Guardian Devil mini-series under his comic book belt, it seemed only natural that Kevin would advance to the next level. Although he went on to create Spider-Man/Black Cat: The Evil That Men Do and Batman: The Widening Gyre, production time was much slower and fans were letdown by too many delays.
